Effects of Fossil Fuel Usage in Electricity Production on CO2 Emissions: A STIRPAT Model Application on 20 Selected Countries

نویسندگان

چکیده

This article examines the causes of air pollution while paying particular attention to effects fossil fuel use in electricity generation. Dietz and Roza's (1994) STIRPAT model, which is a reformulated version IPAT was used. The data includes 20 countries with highest CO2 emission levels covers years 1991 2015. According empirical results this article, increases population GDP per capita are followed by proportional increase emissions. Moreover, show that share coal generation has negative impact on emissions selected countries. On other hand, gas does not have significant period.

Quantification of fossil fuel CO2 emissions on the building/street scale for a large U.S. city.

In order to advance the scientific understanding of carbon exchange with the land surface, build an effective carbon monitoring system, and contribute to quantitatively based U.S. climate change policy interests, fine spatial and temporal quantification of fossil fuel CO(2) emissions, the primary greenhouse gas, is essential. Called the "Hestia Project", this research effort is the first to use...

Impact of Fossil Fuel Energy Consumption on CO2 Emissions: Evidence from Pakistan (1980-2010)

This present study empiricallyanalyzes the impact of fossil fuel energy consumption on CO2 emission for Pakistan using data from 1980-2010. Our broad objective is to test the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis and factors that affect the energy consumption. We have used Johansen Cointegrationapproach and a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to test the long run as well as short run ...

Sensitivity of simulated CO2 concentration to sub-annual variations in fossil fuel CO2 emissions

Recent advances in fossil fuel CO2 (FFCO2) emission inventories enable sensitivity tests of simulated atmospheric CO2 concentrations to sub-annual variations in FFCO2 emissions and what this implies for the interpretation of observed CO2. Six experiments are conducted to investigate the potential impact of three cycles of FFCO2 emission variability (diurnal, weekly and monthly) using a global t...

ANNEX 2 Methodology and Data for Estimating CO2 Emissions from Fossil Fuel Combustion 2.1. Methodology for Estimating Emissions of CO2 from Fossil Fuel Combustion

The bottom-up methodology used by the United States for estimating CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion is conceptually similar to the approach recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for countries that intend to develop detailed, sectoral-based emission estimates (IPCC/UNEP/OECD/IEA 1997). Total consumption data and adjustments to consumption are presented in C...
